DeFuniak Springs and the Destin Florida

We stayed at our friend's house for a few days.  Our friend David came from Indianapolis to see his parents the same time we came to visit.

This is the most unique store I have seen as far as general stores.  It had all kinds of things in it and it was very crowded with so many things that you could hardly walk down the isles.

Our son enjoyed putting puzzles together.  He could easily put together a 24-piece puzzle together by himself and with help could do 48-piece and 100 piece puzzles.

We went down to the lake to feed the ducks.

We stayed at the Residence Inn Marriott in Destin, Florida.  I liked this hotel because it had a nice couch, a full size kitchen and of course breakfast and dinner.

Full size kitchen's are so convenient when you are traveling.  You can actually cook and eat real food.

This is the beach in Destin, Florida.  It was in the mid 40's that day and windy. So we did not stay long to take pictures or walk on the beach.

I love this picture I took of the beach in Destin, Florida.  I wish I could have walked on it but it was so cold!

This was the restaurant that was in front of the beach in Destin, Florida. We were going to eat here but we decided to eat somewhere else.

This is what the restaurant looked like on this side.  You could sit outside the restaurant in the back and see the ocean.

We were looking all over Destin for places to eat and settled on this place.  The food was delicious.  We ordered some alligator for an appetizer and it surprised me because it was so good.  It was the first time I had it.

They had a bowling alley inside the restaurant and a Bass Pro Shop next door.

Our son is a picky eater but he enjoyed the alligator too.

This was inside the restaurant/bowling alley.

November 2014

Jacksonville, Florida

On the way to Jacksonville, Florida we drove thru Orlando.  This is the first time I have been to Orlando.

This is one of the buildings in Orlando.

This is downtown Orlando.

We stayed at the Residence Inn Marriott.  There was an outside pool but it was too cold to go swimming and it rained also.  They had free breakfast everyday and free dinner Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  The room we stayed in had a stand up shower.  We usually give Aaron bath's but instead he got showers while we stayed here.

I do my husband's ironing on Tuesday's.  I get it all done on that day so I don't have to worry about it the rest of the week.  Also I don't want him to do it in the morning because getting the ironing board out might wake us up.  We try to sleep in when he is getting ready for work sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  I love my sleep...

This is a photo of the outside of the hotel.  They had a tennis court too.

Aaron eating at the table in the kitchen of our room...

This was downtown Jacksonville...

More of downtown Jacksonville...

This if Florida Blue.  I decided to take a picture of it because it is our health insurance...  Also downtown Jacksonville...

We got two flat tires on the way home from Jacksonville.

My husband couldn't get the other tire off.

We just happened to pull in the parking lot of an auto shop.  They helped us get both tires off and air in the other tire.  We accidentally left his flat tire at the auto shop instead of putting it in the trunk.  That whole day I also had bad diarreah.  I found out later on that I was pregnant...  I had a miscarriage the first week of December.  I was 11 weeks pregnant.

On this trip to Valdosta, we ran out of gas.  My husband is just not used to driving my car and he sometimes runs low before finding the cheapest gas.  We just happened to roll up behind a truck that was already stopped on the highway.  The driver's engine was overheated so that is why he was pulled over.  He just happened to have the tools necessary to give us some gas.  We were very blessed.  We also left extra early that day too. So my husband luckly made it on time to work.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn Marriott again.

This is one of the exit's for Valdosta.

He was so tired that he fell asleep on the bed an took a nap.

October 30, 2014

We were back in Valdosta, Georgia again.  We stayed at the Fairfield Inn Marriott.  I thought the pool was in an odd location.  You have to walk across the parking lot to get to it.  What if you have to go to the bathroom?  Then you have to walk a lot way either back to your room or across the parking lot to the lobby restroom.  It doesn't seem like a lot unless you have kids.  We didn't use the pool anyways because it happened to be too cold that week.

I like the Farfield Inn Marriott hotel's because they have a free hot breakfast.  The Residence Inn's are even better because sometimes they have dinner on the week day nights.

 He had to touch it...

I love the fire glass fireplace.  It looks almost like a TV,,,

This is our second week in Valdosta, Georgia.  We stayed at the same hotel as the first week,  We walked around and took pictures around the hotel.  Also the pool in this hotel is located in the middle of the hotel on the outside which I thought was pretty awesome.

This is one of my favorite faces that he makes...

We had a balcony this time.

We went out to eat at the Smoki'n Pig BBQ with my husband and some of his co-workers.  The food was delicious.

Our First Visit to Clearwater Beach Florida

We planned on going to the beach but it was a rainy day.  We went ahead with our plans.  It was about a 40 minute drive from our house.  We wanted to explore Florida since we had just moved here.  My husband really wanted to take me to the beach because he knows I really love it.
We didn't actually get to walk on the beach because of the weather but at least we got to drive across the bridge that goes over the ocean and see some beautiful scenery.

There is a lot more palm trees around this area.
